Terry Cree II was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served with 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, and was held on stop-loss during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. After the Marine Corps he built a career in oil and gas completions: more than 18 years as an operator, a supervisor and a consulting completions supervisor.
In January 2025 he changed how he ate, on his own and with no program behind it, and within weeks he was running a deliberate ketogenic protocol. The tracking was the part he could not keep up with, so he built a tool for it: a web app that took a meal plan and broke it down automatically. The first thing it showed him was that he had been eating well under his own calorie target.
Adding Anthropic's Claude as a coach was the turning point. The tool could now explain the science he had pieced together alone, and the personal project became a product. KetoNoir LLC was formed in Texas in April 2026, and after a private beta the app went public that summer.
